Job Responsibilities:

Senior Irrigation Technician must be able to design, install, sell, diagnose and troubleshoot irrigation related problems and equipment for residential and corporate clients.

Essential Duties:

Train and assist field personnel with diagnosing and troubleshooting irrigation related problems.

Designs irrigation systems.

Operate heavy equipment (backhoe, small and large trenchers, dump truck, front end loader, etc.) and hand tools to install/repair irrigation components.

Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs many types and models of irrigation controllers, including electrical troubleshooting of all the systems components.

Performs annual testing and repair work on all types of backflow prevention devices.

Maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots numerous sizes and types of control valves.

Meets with and offers irrigation systems to residential and corporate clients.

Maintain detailed written records of maintenance activities and completed work orders.

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge of pumps, tools, equipment, materials, and practices used in the installation and maintenance of irrigation systems.

Ability to:
Diagnose and troubleshoot irrigation related problems.
Design irrigation systems.
Install and repair systems and controllers.
Repair backflow prevention devices
Perform irrigation maintenance functions requiring manual dexterity and precision measurements.
Work in a safe, skillful and timely manner.
Operate a motor vehicle and heavy equipment (backhoe, trencher, dump truck, etc.) used in irrigation trade.
Understand and use proper safety procedures.
Work continually in a variety of weather conditions.
Move heavy objects over fifty pounds.
Work in bent positions in trenches.
Perform basic math calculations.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, inspectors and the clients.
Work various hours according to the season of the year.
Able to meet with and offer irrigation systems to clients.
Must have valid drivers license.
