Description:Craig Thomas Pest Control, Inc.Fill out application at: callcraig.com Job Title: Sales Representative Employees Rated On: Competencies Employees Report To: Operations Manager General Summary: Sells pest management services to homeowners and businesses to achieve and/or exceed minimum expectations for revenue and profit. Develops and maintains a list of prospective customers utilizing various methods (e.g., cold calls, phone books, mailing lists, networking, etc.). Responds promptly to inquiries from prospective customers. Maintains prospect and customer records (hard copy and computer) in an organized and thorough manner. Submits sales activity reports to sales manager as expected and/or requested. To achieve required performance outcomes for this position, a person must satisfactorily perform the position's principle duties and responsibilities. High school education or GED; college education preferred. Two years successful sales experience preferred. Valid motor vehicle operator's license (if required to drive). No more than three speeding tickets in last three years (if driver's license required). No citations for driving while intoxicated within last three years (if driver's license required). Availability to work required days and hours. U.S. citizen or alien authorized to work in the United States. Read, speak, write, and comprehend English Required Skills: Knowledge of business issues and practices. Knowledge of company products, services, policies, processes, and practices. Knowledge about industry policies, practices, competition, and trends. Knowledge of basic computer operations, and of common business software applications (word processing, spreadsheet, Internet, e-mail, etc.). Uses territory knowledge to develop strategic sales goals, and action plans. Uses multiple techniques to generate sales opportunities (e.g., canvasses, asks for referrals, networks, cloverleaves, etc.). Effectively develops the required number of new prospects every month. Uses specified contact management program to organize and track sales opportunities, and schedule activities. Performs on-site inspections and develops accurate estimates for service. Sales Savvy, Willingness to Improve, and Time Management Effectively identifies decision makers, influencers, and other factors that could affect prospect decision making, and uses that information to match sales approach to prospect needs. Uses effective and relevant questions with prospects; listens effectively. Communicates effectively with prospects on money-related issues (e.g., discovering budgets, asking for money, etc.). Shows skill in overcoming objections, rejections, and 'put-offs'; effectively sells value and service. Recognizes buying signals; understands the appropriate time to ask for, and/or close sales; avoids use of discounting to close sales. Looks for, and takes advantage of, opportunities to improve own performance; listens to, and tries suggestions from co-workers (e.g., sales manager, sales reps, branch managers, etc.). Uses time effectively (e.g., focuses time on qualified prospects, spends at least 80% of time in field). Writing, Product Knowledge, and Miscellaneous Translates inspection results into effective proposals (e.g., well-organized, grammatically correct, concise, benefit/solution-oriented). Effectively explains the features and benefits of company's initial program and service programs. Understands company's products and services sufficient to identify sales opportunities, develop on-target recommendations, and make effective sales presentations. Follows company's sales policies and procedures. Conducts key customer visits as assigned and/or requested. Meets and/or exceeds assigned goals for sales production. Customer Service Interacts with others (customers, co-workers, management) in a cooperative, positive, and professional manner. Acts quickly and appropriately to address actual or potential problems.
