Commercial Integrated Pest Management Account Manager

The I.P.M. account manager, a pest control professional with a solid understanding of IPM, responds to inquiries, inspects the clients facility, diagnoses and documents the problem, recommends a solution or treatment, carries through on the recommendation, records the findings and reports on them to both FIS and the client, assists with contract and billing questions, and educates clients staff about how to avoid future pest problems. Each I.P.M. account manager covers a specific geographic area and generally works independently, but staff sometimes work as a team, assisting one another.
Minimum requirements
Knowledge of, and appreciation for, integrated pest management
Understanding that the natural world and the world created by humans are interconnected
Driver's license (preferably Illinois) and an excellent driving record
Well-maintained and insured personal vehicle that reflects the company's high standards and operates without difficulty
Familiarity with the Chicago metropolitan area and a willingness to locate there
Housing within a 50-mile radius of clients in the territory
Ability to work nights, when necessary
Ambulatory and able to perform physical tasks, including lifting, moving, and pushing equipment
COVID-19 Vaccine Required
The most competitive candidates will
Bachelors degree in biological, physical, life sciences, or equivalent
Have some experience in IPM
Understand the value of uninterrupted preventive pest control
Be able to communicate effectively with clients
Respect dress and behavior codes that reflect FIS's high standards
Be sensitive to such clients as senior citizens and disabled individuals, as well as not-for-profit managers, such as museum staff
Be flexible with work schedules from time to time
Be knowledgeable about food service sanitation
Listen attentively and work well with colleagues, focusing always on positive outcomes for FIS and its clients
Complete work on time, including all necessary follow-up, such as reports and documentation
Possess the skills for success, including adaptability, inclusiveness, self-development, teamwork, stewardship, motivation, and being service-minded
Be a licensed pesticide applicator (license can be acquired soon after hiring)
